Weekly updates on the European aviation network

Air traffic continued steady in Week 28, registering 34,403 average daily flights, 5% higher than in 2023 (at 97% of 2019 flight volumes).

With the European Football Championship, the private jet company NetJets Europe increased its flights to Germany by 71%, taking it to 212 flights in total. It also registered the highest week-on-week increase—5% more than week 27, with 232 daily flights. The matches in Germany can also explain the traffic growth at Berlin Brandenburg Airport, which was 9% higher than in 2023 (with 571 average daily flights).

As we head into the summer holiday season, Ibiza Airport registered the most significant week-on-week percentage increase, recording 3% week-on-week growth (416 daily).

From a country perspective, among the Top 10 States, Greece continues to be one of the countries growing the most, with 2,589 average daily flights in week 28, representing a 2% week-on-week increase and 6% more flights than in 2023. Italy is also growing, with 4,738 daily flights, reaching a 10% increase compared to 2023.

Regarding flows, traffic to/from North America remains particularly strong, with 1,644 daily flights.
