The 25,786 daily flights were +8% vs last year, with many top aviation actors seeing double-digit yearly growth.
8 of the top 10 airports were +10% vs last year, in particular 8th busiest airport Munich +30% vs 2023 (831 daily flights) and 9th busiest Rome Fiumicino +24% +10% vs Week 11 (737 daily flights).
5 of the top 10 States had 10% more traffic than 2023, led by France (+13%, 3,675 daily flights) and Germany (+12%, 4,403 daily flights).
Finally, 4 of the top 10 airlines saw double-digit growth compared to last year, with the two highest results coming from 4th busiest airline Lufthansa (+17%, 1,147 daily flights) and 8th busiest Wizz Air Group (+12%, 742 daily flights).
The most improved major network actor, however, was well outside the top 10s, as Antalya Airport, currently the 40th busiest, recorded +34% growth vs Week 11 (302 daily flights) as traffic starts to rise quickly ahead of the busy summer months.
A second week without disruptions saw Lufthansa – and its main hubs – record double-digit growth for the 2nd week running: +18% vs Week 11 at Lufthansa, +11% at Frankfurt & +10% at Munich airports.
Inter-European traffic was 8% up vs 2023 and 2% up on Week 11 (19,949 daily flights), but 4 of the 9 regional flows were over 10% up compared to last year, notably the 5th largest flow to/from Asia-Pacific, +28% vs 2023 and +3% vs last week with 804 daily flights, and the smallest inter-regional flow to/from South America, +15% vs 2023, +2% vs last week and 183 daily flights.
