Since the staff member lives in Germany, they are in contact with the German medical authorities and are following recommended procedures, including staying at home.
Following the guidance provided by the medial authorities, other personnel who were potentially in contact with the infected person have been asked to remain at home for the next 14 days.
At this time, we foresee no major impact on the services provided by the Maastricht Centre.
The other EUROCONTROL sites are also applying measures to protect staff and visitors. We are working in close coordination with the other European institutions in Brussels and relying on advice from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), the WHO and the Inter-institutional Medical Board (IMB).
Anyone who has been to areas where there is widespread local transmission of the virus are asked not to come to EUROCONTROL sites. This applies to visitors and staff. Other hygiene measures, as recommended by WHO, have been put in place at our sites.
We will continue to monitor the situation on an ongoing basis and take all necessary measures to protect the health of our staff, while ensuring business continuity.
