Real-time Simulation based on Dublin TMA (New Sectorisation and Controller Working Methods...

This document details the results and evaluation of a real-time air traffic management simulation based on Dublin operations which was carried out in January/February 2008 in collaboration with the Irish Aviation Authority. This activity was conducted at the EUROCONTROL Experimental Centre as part of the Agency Research Work Programme for Mid-Term Concept Validation (Episode 3 Cycle 0) studies which are focused on the enhancement of air traffic flows in the airspace surrounding airports. This simulation forms part of a series of validation and prototyping exercises aimed at investigating the operational feasibility, efficiency and benefits of solutions based on the use of Precision Area navigation (PRNAV) route structure in TMA and the Point Merge System (PMS), with the main focus on arrival flows.
