Model simulation of the Czech Republic airspace

In 1997, the ANS (Air Navigation Services of the Czech Republic) requested an all-Czech Republic airspace model simulation study. This simulation was conducted during 1998 with the EUROCONTROL RAMS simulator. The objective of the study was the optimisation of ATM systems in the Czech Republic so that the requirements of the users are met and that the anticipated growth in air traffic to 2002 and beyond will be catered for in the appropriate airspace structures and operating procedures. This involved the investigation of the current and future airspace organisations, the current and future sector/working positions, including planning and tactical controller workload , military activity, the implementation of reduced vertical separation minima (RVSM) and the results of a SIMMOD simulation of Praha TMA.
