Industry Monitor - March 2019

The Industry Monitor is a regular briefing for EUROCONTROL Member States and associated organisations on the air transport and related industries.

It covers matters of relevance for understanding air transport statistics or preparing air transport forecasts.

In this edition of the Industry monitor we speak about:

  • European flights increased by 2.9% in February 2019 compared with February 2018 and were above the low end of the forecast. Preliminary data for March show average daily flights up 2.8% on March 2018.
  • There were on average 220 flights per day by the Boeing B737 MAX, 0.8% of the total flights in the European sky before the grounding on 12 March.
  • Brent crude oil prices hit €59 per barrel in March from €57 per barrel in February.
