Industry Monitor - July 2019

The Industry Monitor is a regular briefing for EUROCONTROL Member States and associated organisations on the air transport and related industries.

European flights were up 1.2% in June 2019. For the first half of 2019, the modest flight growth of 1.7% remained at the low end of the forecast. Preliminary data for July show average daily flights up 0.7% on July 2018.

Airbus delivered 389 aircraft in the first half of 2019 and for the first time in eight years surpassed Boeing, which affected by the B737 MAX crisis, recorded 239 aircraft deliveries.

EU carbon prices doubled and averaged €24 per tonne in 2019H1.

Airline ticket prices in Europe were only slightly more expensive (+0.2%) in 2019H1.

Oil prices averaged €57 per barrel in July up from €56 in June. On average, prices per barrel remained below the €60 bar in 2019H1.
