EUROCONTROL Specification of Interoperability and Performance Requirements for the Flight Message Transfer Protocol (FMTP)

This document specifies the interoperability and performance requirements for implementations of the Flight Message Transfer Protocol (FMTP).

This EUROCONTROL specification has been recognised as a Community specification (CS) after a positive opinion of the Single Sky Committee and after publication of the specification’s reference in the Official Journal of the European Union.

The FMTP is used, in a peer-to-peer communications context, for the information exchanges between flight data processing systems. In particular, for the purpose of notification, co-ordination and transfer of flights between air traffic control units and for the purposes of civil-military co-ordination.
