For Week 28 (7 – 13 July 2025):
Traffic: 35,565 daily flights, up +2.0% vs the previous week, +3% vs 2024, and 101% of pre-pandemic 2019 levels. Traffic from/to the Middle East is gradually shifting back to normal routings, in particular for flights operated by Gulf carriers.
ATFM delays: Averaged 3.9 minutes per flight — a 32% decrease from the previous week, and 37% lower than in 2024. A total of 58,227 flights were delayed by air traffic flow management (ATFM) restrictions in Week 28, an average of 8,318 flights a day and 23% of all flights.
Arrival punctuality: Up vs Week 27 to 71% and better by 8.6 percentage points than last year.
Network hot spots:
- France (41% of all delays in the network): Affected by on-going capacity and staffing issues.
- Spain (16% of all delays in the network): Affected by capacity issues related to high demand and weather.
- Germany (9% of all delays in the network): Affected mostly by weather and some capacity issues.
Network Operations Plan (NOP) delivery:
- With 3.9% year-to-date traffic growth, en-route ATFM delay so far is 18% better than 2024, with excellent delivery by all air navigation service providers (ANSPs) in South-East Europe, Central Europe, Italy and Switzerland.
- Most ANSPs are delivering the agreed capacity.
- Further reductions are being seen to expected delays in Germany.
- However, Marseille ACC is not fully providing the planned capacity (generating 175K delay minutes).
Actions to be taken: Brest, Reims and Bosnia-Herzegovina Area Control Centres (ACCs) will need to revise their plans to align with the NOP for the upcoming weeks.
