- The network recorded 34,565 average daily flights in Week 24 (+2% vs 2024), just below 2019 levels (99%).
- Overall, traffic in Week 24 was +1% vs Week 23. The growth was slightly suppressed owing to Whit Monday (9 June), a public holiday in some European countries, and the developing situation in the Middle East (Friday 13 June).
- On average, the top 10 carriers increased their capacities by 0.3% compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, at country level, the top 10 States saw their flights increase by 0.9%.
- Year-to-date traffic is 99% of 2019, 5% more than 2024.
- Arrival and departure punctuality were 75.0% and 69.0% respectively, better than the equivalent week last year and 2019.
- En-route ATFM delays were +24% compared to the previous week, with a daily average of just below 80,700 minutes – but 3% below the same week in 2024. In Week 24, this translated into an average of 2.3 min/flight.
- ATC capacity/staffing was the top delay cause last week (49% of all en-route ATFM delays), followed by Weather (40%).
- EUROCONTROL billed 1,057M€ in en-route charges in May 2025, 18% above the amount billed for May 2024 flights, reflecting more service units (+5%) and higher unit rates (11%). The average distance per flight again increased (+1.6% in May 2025 vs May 2024) as well as the average weight per flight (+0.9%).
- The average jet fuel price stood at 2.05 USD/gallon on 13 June, a 2% increase on three weeks earlier.
