The experiment was conducted on the Maastricht UAC Luxembourg Sector and the French civil airspace of Reims ACC, with French military Mazout radar. Concept, and general HMI presentation and interaction principles were well received. The transfer of communication functions operated well and were perceived as preferable to current practices. In spite of very high traffic levels in the Reims civil sector, controllers were able to prioritise the system supported co-ordination functions in an apparently, very effective manner. Further work is required on the HMI of the co-ordination functions and the importance of adequate training is to be emphasised.
EATCHIP III evaluation and demonstration Phase 2, SYSCO Level 1
This report describes the evaluation of system support for transfer of communication and for co-ordination, between ATS units, based on the extensions to OLDI known as SYSCO Level 1.
