This document provides guidance for the operational use of DAP/ADD in ATS.
It is a deliverable of the Operational Excellence Programme (OEP) Work Stream 13.6, "Harmonised Downlinked Aircraft Parameters" and Work Stream 01.07, "Utilisation of Mode S DAP/CAP". It includes guidance material and recommendations to support the implementation and use of Downlinked Aircraft Parameters (DAP) and Aircraft Derived Data (ADD) in ATS. The recommendations provided in the document have to be adapted to the local environment and characteristics. Local safety and performance analysis should be performed to validate that the recommendations are applicable to the local environment.
In particular, this document includes both operational and technical considerations as well as recommendation for the use of the following parameters: Indicated Airspeed (IAS)/Mach Number, Magnetic Heading (MHDG), Barometric Pressure Setting (BPS) and Selected Altitude (SAL).
