EUROCONTROL has released an authoritative factsheet on the impact of COVID-19 on aviation in France.
“Aviation in France has been very hard hit by the pandemic, with around 700,000 fewer flights than in 2019. Flights to/from/within the France are currently over 64% down on last year and the number of passengers is 78% down. Although we saw some recovery in the summer, traffic is again falling at present.”
The briefing includes information on airports, the major airlines, market segments and traffic flows, including:
- Last week Paris CDG was 62% down on last year;
- Air France less affected than Ryanair or easyJet but still 52% down;
- Both traditional and low cost segments over 60% down;
- Domestic flights least affected, at only 23% down.
