Harmonised 3D weather radar

EUROCONTROL supports the deployment of 3D and 2D radar mosaics by the European MET Services (EUMETNET).

The project will deliver high-resolution 3D gridded reflectivity products, at a horizontal resolution of 1 km and a 5 minute update cycle, delivered via SWIM services.

The 3D mosaic domain will cover a pan-European area that fully encompass two FABs (Europe Central and UK-Ireland).

To achieve this coverage, 11 aviation MET providers will likely include their weather radar in these new products - France, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, as well as Austria, Czech Republic, Poland and Denmark, primarily in support of network operations.
