EUROCONTROL has released an authoritative factsheet on the impact of COVID-19 on aviation in Norway.

The briefing (attached) provides key facts and graphics and is one of a series covering the impact of the crisis on countries across the EUROCONTROL Network.

Norway has lost around 190,000 flights compared to 2019 and 28 million passengers. Flights to/from/within Norway are currently 48% down on last year and the number of passengers is 72% down.

The briefing includes information on airports, the major airlines, market segments and traffic flows, including:

  • Last week Oslo and Bergen flights were 64% and 35% down on last year;
  • Widerøe/SAS flights were 18%/58% down on 2019;
  • Domestic flights were less affected (24% down) than European flows (-47%).
