Morocco joins the LSSIP process

Summer 2019 has brought very good news! The Kingdom of Morocco has decided to join the LSSIP (Local Single Sky Implementation) process, run jointly by EUROCONTROL and the Member States.

This is a follow-up to the signature of a Comprehensive Agreement between EUROCONTROL and Morocco in 2016. It is another recognition that the long-standing LSSIP process is the right one to use for monitoring the implementation of air traffic management functionalities in Europe and beyond.

ECAC States recognise that LSSIP information is their main source for monitoring the European ATM Master Plan implementation as well as for monitoring the implementation of ICAO’s ASBUs (ATM System Block Upgrades) in the ICAO European Region. Using LSSIP helps them both optimise reporting streams and make sure that there is no duplication of effort.

With the accession of Morocco to the LSSIP mechanism, the coverage of the process now extends to 43 States (+ MUAC), reinforcing once again the Agency’s true pan-European dimension.
