Maastricht UAC and the Network Manager Operations Centre strengthen coordination through new B2B web service
EUROCONTROL’s Upper Area Control Centre in Maastricht (MUAC) is the first air navigation service provider to adopt the new Regulation Proposal Service (RPS) – a Network Manager Business-to-Business (B2B) web service. This service allows MUAC’s flow management position to create, coordinate, modify and cancel regulations quickly and efficiently.
The integration of RPS into the MUAC flow management tool vastly improves on current workflows by optimising:
- the interoperability between this regulation coordination and other time-critical operational tasks;
- the exchange of regulation details to reduce errors in the workflow process;
- the monitoring of each regulation and its impact on the air traffic situation;
- the efficiency of obtaining post-operational analysis of regulation use and thus ensuring that regulations are applied optimally in the future.
In practice, the RPS brings an improved interface between MUAC and the Network Manager Operations Centre – something that several other air navigation service providers have shown interest in and will adopt in the near future.
This development is part of the overall approach to implement dynamic network coordination, i.e. facilitating the coordination of more targeted solutions to deal with network constraints. SESAR VLD Network Collaborative Management (PJ24) is working to bring further improvements to this service.
