It provides a review and comparison of ATM cost-effectiveness for 38 Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) in Europe, based on their latest economic data submissions (covering the year 2021). This report puts a special emphasis on changes in cost-effectiveness performance following the COVID-19 crisis and the progressive traffic recovery, including an examination of the mitigation measures implemented by ANSPs. This report also puts a special focus on how ANSPs capital expenditures have evolved compared to their pre-crisis levels.
EUROCONTROL's Performance Review Commission issues its latest ATM Cost-Effectiveness Benchmarking Report
Brussels, Belgium – The EUROCONTROL's Performance Review Commission (PRC) has published its 21st ATM Cost-Effectiveness (ACE) Benchmarking Report.
“I am very proud of this new ACE benchmarking report, which shows how ANSPs are performing economically in a context of low traffic levels, with adaptations in both operating costs and capital expenditures. Detailed analysis shows that, in most cases, ANSPs decided to postpone or scale-down their investments as they were facing many constraints (both internal and from their suppliers) but also, most importantly, to reduce cash outflow. This being said, it is important to make sure that the measures currently implemented do not jeopardize the deployment of future capacity when traffic returns to pre-crisis levels. The PRC will closely monitor the evolution of this situation in its future ACE and PRR reports."
Mr de Jong also encouraged all interested stakeholders to use the information publicly available in the new ACE website, which offers direct access to all ACE reports, individual ANSP factsheets and an interactive dashboard allowing users to customise presentations based on ACE data.
