EUROCONTROL commits to 25% more women in technical roles by 2025

This covers
International Women’s Day

The struggle to achieve gender equality lies at the heart of International Women’s Day, which is celebrated every year around the world.

This year, EUROCONTROL, as a pan-European organisation with 41 Member States including Ukraine, dedicates International Women’s Day to the women and girls of Ukraine, and to our Ukrainian staff and their families in these terrible times following the invasion of Ukraine by Russia.

For International Women’s Day 2022, we reaffirm our commitment to a very different but also important struggle: to strive for equality and continue to tackle the very real gender gap in aviation.

This year, we are taking a major step towards rebalancing our workforce by joining IATA’s inspiring “25by2025” initiative and committing to raise by 25% the proportion of women working in technical, managerial and decision-making roles at EUROCONTROL, and to achieve this by 2025.

This is a highly ambitious target given the Agency’s current demographics (71:29 M:F), but it is one that we aim to reach progressively as we renew our workforce over the coming years, enabling us to deliver on our commitment to make aviation more diverse.
