As head of the EUROCONTROL Director General's Cabinet, Enrique Fraile-Riesco is tasked with advising Director General Raúl Medina on strategy, policy, implementation of key Agency projects, and leading Agency coordination on international matters.

Enrique has over 24 years of experience in the aviation transport sector, with a strong leadership track record. Before joining EUROCONTROL in October 2023, he had worked at AESA, the Spanish Air Safety and Security State Agency, in senior management roles for 15 years, most recently as Air Navigation Director reporting directly to the CEO and serving on AESA’s Management Board.

An engineer by profession with an MSc in Aeronautical Engineering and an MA in Leadership & Public Management, he has amassed considerable experience across the aviation value chain with particular expertise in the design, implementation and coordination of ATM/ANS policies, programmes, regulatory initiatives and R&D projects. He has worked closely with a wide range of aviation stakeholders, from operational actors (air navigation service providers, airports and airlines) to EU bodies and partner organisations.
