Organised with First Scandinavia, Boeing and ThinkYoung, the Mobile Newton Room is a moveable classroom solution designed to use cutting-edge technology to encourage local students and teachers alike to explore the possibilities of STEM and aviation.
We’re delighted to be the first organisation to bring this unique initiative to Belgium, which aims to give schoolchildren the chance to learn and become interested in air traffic management (ATM) through a state-of-the-art, portable interactive learning environment.
Mobile Newton promotes STEM by providing a practical learning experience. The children will need to exercise their technological and mathematical skills in a realistic aviation scenario (“Up in the Air with Numbers”). In it, they will carry out a rescue mission that calls on them to become confident navigators, collaborating to plan flight routes by carrying out mathematical calculations using units, distance, speed, and time.
The Mobile Newton initiative is offered by FIRST Scandinavia Norway and supported by Boeing, and fits perfectly into EUROCONTROL’s strategy to attract younger generations, especially girls, to careers in aviation.
The initiative is open to Belgian schools. For more information, please contact [email protected]. Read the privacy statement for this event.
