EUROCONTROL Innovation Hub Promote Event

Accelerating user-driven innovation in aviation
EUROCONTROL Innovation Hub Promote Event

EUROCONTROL’s Air Transport Innovation Hub initiative aims to support the digital transformation of European aviation. Launched in October 2020 by our Experimental Centre in Brétigny, it envisages to work closely with end-users to develop agile, digital solutions and services that accelerate the uptake of SESAR solutions in aviation.

Together with our partners, we would like to invite you to an online event on 13 April at which we will be sharing the results of the initial six-month development cycle, in which the most promising solutions to specific operational needs have been elaborated and are now ready to be industrialised.

Agenda

EUROCONTROL Director General Eamonn Brennan will open the event and the morning session (10:00-12:00), which see key players from Groupe ADP/Orly Airport, easyJet, Swiss International Airlines, Transavia and Vueling explain the operational drivers behind the first selected solutions:

Solution 1

Prediction of waiting time at arrival

An AI-driven prediction of waiting time with integration of weather data to improve fuel planning with a focus on the pre-flight phase (H-4 to H-2).

Presented by
Cyril Canu
Cyril Canu
Operations Control Centre Manager
Transavia
Solution 2

Forecast of ATFM Delay Evolution

An AI-driven indicator for ATFM delay evolution for a regulated flight (trend & final delay prediction) to provide airspace users with economic, operational and passenger experience benefits.

Presented by
Oliver Iffert
Oliver Iffert
Chief Operations Officer
Vueling
Solution 3

Curfew collaborative management

An AI-based tool to detect flights with potential risk of curfew infringement well before the starting time of the curfew, by predicting the propagation of flights’ delays for a given aircraft.

Presented by
Thomas Dubus
Thomas Dubus
Operations Director
Groupe ADP/Orly
Hugh McConnellogue
Hugh McConnellogue
Director of Operations Gatwick & Director of Air Traffic Management Strategy and Delivery
easyJet
Eric Nantier
Eric Nantier
Head of Operation Optimisation & Development
Swiss International Airlines

Immediately after these presentations, we will be announcing the next batch of innovative solutions to be developed within the Innovation Hub framework.

In the afternoon session (14:00-16:00), you will get a chance to go deeper into the technical aspects of the solutions to assess further their industrialisation potential.
