EUROCONTROL Stakeholder Forum - new strategic webinar

Our next strategic webinar in the EUROCONTROL Stakeholder Forum series will take place on 18 May 2022, at 15:00 CEST. Our panellists will take a close look at the following question:

How do we prepare for the busiest summer season since 2019 – and at the same time, work to minimise the operational impact of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on the European aviation network?

We expect traffic to recover to around 90% of the 2019 levels across the network, and over 100% in some parts, translating into over 30,000 flights a day this summer. This is good news for our industry, but is the European ATM network ready to deal with this traffic increase, in combination with the impact of the ongoing war in Ukraine and the resulting airspace closures?

To help us build a clearer picture of what we can expect in the months ahead, and the implications on an operational level, we’ve lined up three key aviation players to share their perspectives and highlight the key challenges ahead:

Featuring senior speakers from the UK Ministry of Defence, NATO, the European Defence Agency (EDA) and the EUROCONTROL Network Manager, the webinar discussed steps and approaches towards achieving a harmonised and common CNS infrastructure that accommodates both civil and military operations in European airspace.

Panellists addressed key questions such as:

What is the best approach to accommodate Military State aircraft flights (GAT/IFR) in mixed-mode environment supported by the civil CNS infrastructure?
With the evolution of civil CNS infrastructure to feature increased levels of interconnectivity and automation, what are the security and interoperability risks for military users?
