How do we prepare for the busiest summer season since 2019 – and at the same time, work to minimise the operational impact of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on the European aviation network?
We expect traffic to recover to around 90% of the 2019 levels across the network, and over 100% in some parts, translating into over 30,000 flights a day this summer. This is good news for our industry, but is the European ATM network ready to deal with this traffic increase, in combination with the impact of the ongoing war in Ukraine and the resulting airspace closures?
