EUROCONTROL Stakeholder Forum: Towards a new model for ATM service delivery with a service-oriented architecture

Strategic webinar
Stakeholder forum

As the aviation sector evolves, transitioning to a new air traffic management (ATM) service delivery model, the shift towards a modern, data-driven and cloud-based service-oriented architecture (SOA) has become a key enabler. SOA is a cornerstone of the European ATM Master Plan, driving transformation across five key areas: trajectory optimisation, data volumes, automation, dynamic airspace, and the role of human operators.

By ensuring interoperable, reusable and user-driven information services, SOA promises faster feature deployment, enhanced interoperability, increased innovation, greater automation and seamless integration across airspace and the technology systems used by all air navigation service providers (ANSPs).

The A6 group of ANSPs, the manufacturing industry, EUROCONTROL and a growing list of industry leaders have signed a Joint Statement supporting this transition. Together, they are committed to replacing the current vertically integrated service model with a cloud-based, data-driven SOA approach.

In this webinar, three top experts from the aviation sector and one from the wider industry will explore why this shift in the ATM provision model is crucial, looking also at its broader impacts, lessons learnt from other sectors, and the next steps to take to secure a successful transition.
