In our publications, dashboards and other products, EUROCONTROL presents information related to airlines grouping them according to three levels, as follows:
- Level 0
Corresponds to individual airlines as identified by their ICAO codes. They are not grouped with other partner airlines. - Level 1
Airlines are grouped with their subsidiaries, typically under a ‘mother’ company that gives name to the group. This is done mostly at the operator’s request and as long as the ‘mother’ company owns the majority of the subsidiaries’ shares. This grouping is the most commonly used in our publications. - Level 2
This level is used for larger airline conglomerates that typically can include more than one ‘brand’ (e.g. IAG, Air France-KLM, Lufthansa Group). This grouping is mostly used to generate group-specific reports.
