Safety Culture is seen as a strategic asset of the Air Traffic Management (ATM) industry. The two documents in this area explain what Safety Culture is, and how to go about measuring and improving Safety Culture within an Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP) organisation.
EUROCONTROL, together with other agencies such as the FAA, CANSO and EASA, are all developing strategic ways forward in the Safety Culture domain, committing resources and energy to make a real difference in safety terms.
On the 17th and 18th December 2008, an executive level Safety Culture Conference is being held in Rome, with many attendees from all over Europe and the US. This will coincide with the launch of a new 'Safety Culture Toolbox' for industry, which will aim to support ANSPs undertaking Safety Culture surveys and improvement initiatives.
Once the Toolbox is active, links will be established from the SKYbrary website and from this website.
