Reaching out to the Chinese ATM Community at ATC Global 2016

16 September 2016

On 12-14 September 2016, EUROCONTROL attended the ATC Global Conference and Exhibition which took place for the second time in Beijing, China.

The event comprised an exhibition, a high-level conference and a free educational programme offering a diverse mix of strategic, planning, operations and technology-based seminars and workshops.

Our experts had the opportunity to showcase European and global ATM solutions and network with the Chinese and international ATM community.

On the first day, our Director General, Frank Brenner, took part in the official opening ceremony along with other aviation personalities including Dr Fang Liu, Secretary General of ICAO, and Li Qiguo, Deputy Director General of ATMB.  Following the ceremony, the ICAO Secretary General took the time for a brief visit to our stand.

Mr Brenner, the Director Network Manager, Mr Joe Sultana, and the Director ATM, Mr Philippe Merlo, they each addressed the Conference delegates and their presentations are all available at our ATC Global Conference page.

EUROCONTROL also contributed to the free educational programme with two workshops on “Emerging Technologies” and “Global ATFM,  respectively, and a Seminar on “ATM Performance”. They were well attended and the audience showed a lot of interest during the Q&A sessions. All the presentations can be found on our dedicated ATC Global 2016 website.

The exhibits on our stand also attracted a lot of interest. They focused on EUROCONTROL’s initiatives in the field of air traffic flow management, airports, SWIM, advanced flexible use of airspace and aeronautical information management.

To give you a flavour of our participation you can view a selection of pictures taken at the event in our dedicated gallery.
