Aircraft EHS Capability

Aircraft EHS Capability

Fixed wing aircraft that can provide the list of 8 Downlink Aircraft Parameters (DAPs) displayed in the following table are considered to be Mode S EHS capable. [Note: Where the parameter ‘Track Angle Rate’ cannot be provided, ‘True Air Speed’ should be used instead.]

IMPORTANT NOTE: Users should be aware that, for the European implementation of EHS, only those DAPs listed above will be certified.

Aircraft that are unable to provide the full set of 8 DAPs are considered to be Mode S EHS non-capable.

Aircraft DAP Capability Lists

The following lists provide the aircraft operator with an initial assessment of the DAP capability of their aircraft, in the basic delivery configuration. They are not intended to be exhaustive and are offered for information only.

If an aircraft that was non-EHS capable in its basic configuration is modified so that the full set of 8 DAPs (as above) becomes available, the aircraft is then required to be made EHS compliant.

The responsibility rests with the aircraft operator to assess the capability and configuration of his aircraft to ensure it complies with the appropriate requirements.
MS Excel List 1 - This List shows EHS capability by aircraft manufacturer
Acrobat List 2 - This List is more detailed than List 1, and catalogues manufacturers and aircraft types in order of initial EHS capability.
The latest update to List 2 was incorporated on 19 September 2011.
