Link 2000+
The LINK 2000+ Programme identified a need to manage and operate a Central Reporting Office (CRO), providing regular statistical reports on the operational use of data link, as follows:
  • Report and Monitor CPDLC operations and performance.
  • Report and Monitor ATN and VDL Mode 2 operations and performance.

Various tools are being made available to the CRO to assist in the production of the statistics. These are described in more detail below.

LISAT

As part of the CRO toolset, the design and development of a database commenced early in 2007, the LINK 2000+ Statistics reporting and Analysis Tool (LISAT). The initial deployment was completed at the end of the same year.

LISAT includes interfaces to various user front-end tools facilitating both the production of generic statistics and the performance of specialised investigations. A common interface towards ATN system logs will allow not only stakeholder access to the tool but also the centralisation of data for the reporting of programme wide statistics.

The tool will be further enhanced through the integration with the EUROCONTROL data warehouse, PRISME. Subject to subsequent deployment phases, access to the database by aircraft operators and ANSPs is being taken into account.

MOON

A second input into the CRO is the independent VDL Mode 2 traffic monitoring tool, MOON. A network of Remote Monitoring Units (RMU) feeding a central monitoring computer has been implemented and initial results have been made available. Deployment of additional RMUs extending the coverage area is an option for future MOON development.
