EUROCONTROL Releases Flight Information Training Package
EUROCONTROL released a new Flight Information Services (FIS) training package. The training package is aimed at student air traffic controllers as part of their basic training. The package covers the FIS topic of the ATM subject in the training regulations for air traffic controllers.
The complete package includes all necessary support materials for instructors and students. This entails electronically stored training documents, a training event plan (lesson plan), a presentation (including instructor notes), a short revision module with interactive exercises and a self assessment.
The package is designed to be delivered in two 45 minutes lessons.

Eurocontrol released ELPACst, the student controller version of the ELPAC test.
The ELPAC test was developed by EUROCONTROL to meet ICAO and European Commission language proficiency requirements in English for operational air traffic controllers. The ELPACst test was developed to meet the language proficiency requirements in English for student air traffic controllers.
The test replaces the PELA test, meets the language proficiency requirements for student air traffic controllers specified by the EC’s Directive on a Community ATC Licence. These requirements will come into force on May 17th 2010.
