The AAB is an advisory body for the EUROCONTROL Director General, operating at a cross-Directorate level.
It provides a broad range of balanced advice together with the widest possible stakeholder support and commitment in matters relating to the European ATM strategic objectives of the Provisional Council and the operation of the European ATM network as set out in the Agency Business Plan.
The AAB also advises the EUROCONTROL Director General on the operational and technical matters affecting the European civil and military aviation as a whole, while ensuring complementarities with other existing European bodies and avoiding gaps and duplication to the maximum extent possible.

COMPOSITION
The AAB is composed of appropriately mandated representatives from:
- the EUROCONTROL Agency;
- civil and military aviation authorities of ECAC Member States;
- ANSPs within the ECAC area and organisations representing ANSPs;
- the European Commission;
- the SESAR JU;
- inter-governmental organisations (e.g. ICAO, NATO);
- organisations and representative bodies of civil airspace users,
- airports and organisations representing airports,
- the manufacturing supply industry;
- organisations representing the social partners;
- professional staff organisations.
