ATM Safety Management Interface between ANSP and NAA/NSA - Study and Selection of Good Practices

26 Apr 2011

A study has been completed at the request of the Safety Team in cooperation with the Safety Regulation Commission, to look at the identified topics.

One of the important contributors to the day-to-day safety management activities is the maturity of interface between ANSP and NSA. Various levels of such maturity had been identified, and opportunities to increase it have been found to exist. Hence the EUROCONTROL Safety Team (as well as the EUROCONTROL Safety Regulation Commission) identified a need to look into optimizing and harmonizing ANSPs’ relationships with the NSA and to make them more effective and efficient, both bilaterally as well as in a FAB context.
The report ATM Safety Management Interface between ANSP and NAA/NSA – Study and Selection of Good Practices lists in Part I all the practices observed as an outcome of a series of interviews with ANSPs and NSAs. Part II highlights the good practices, selected by subject matter experts from both ANSP and NSA, which can be implemented and hopefully lead to success stories for good working arrangements between ANSP and NSA.
