The EUROCONTROL Experimental Centre (EEC) is a participant in the iFly project, which is a component of the European Commission's 6th Framework programme.

The purpose of the iFly project is to develop both an advanced airborne, self separation, design and a highly-automated ATM (air traffic management) design for en-route traffic that takes advantage of the operating capabilities of autonomous aircraft and that is aimed to manage a 3 to 6 times increase in current en-route traffic levels.
