The EUROCONTROL Experimental Centre (EEC) is a participant in the HISAC project, which is a component of the European Commission's 6th Framework programme.
HISAC is shorthand for "Environmentally-friendly High Speed Aircraft".

The main purpose of the HISAC project is to establish the technical feasibility of an environmentally-compliant, supersonic, small-size, transport aircraft through an MDO (multi-disciplinary design optimisation) approach and focused technological improvements.
