The EUROCONTROL Experimental Centre (EEC) is a participant in the Air-TN project, which is a component of the European Commission's 6th Framework programme.
Air-TN is shorthand for "Air Transport Net".

The objectives of the Air-TN project are:
- to step up the co-operation in, and the co-ordination of, research activities in aeronautics that carried out at national level; and
- to strengthen the European dimension by developing an aeronautical network with the hope of improving the coherence and co-ordination of aeronautics and so underpin the European aeronautics programme.

These two objectives are addressed by bringing together key actors (public bodies and other national bodies that finance or manage aeronautical research activities) from a large number of European nations (sixteen member states together with Romania and Switzerland) with a common strategic interest in aeronautics, including air traffic management.
