Scope & Approach

Exchange of information

  1. Exchange of reports and documents;
  2. Leveraging and collection of available domain information and, subsequently, formatting this in a way that it becomes readily available for common use.
  3. Technical Interchange Meetings to be hosted alternatively by each organisation at least once a year, plus regular meetings including videoconferencing when appropriate; and
  4. Seminars, workshops and Master Classes will be held as required for the purpose of sharing research results and relevant information gained in further development of Trajectory Prediction.
  5. Use of the Eurocontrol Validation Data Repository (VDR) as a vehicle for information exchange .
  6. Use of the Eurocontrol PRISME database for the storage of Reference validation data

Specific areas of work (Actions)

  1. Definition of a Common TP-Related Terminology
  2. Survey and document the current and future DST requirements for TP functionality.
  3. Collect and describe proposed Requirements for the encoding in LOA/SOP-defined ATC Constraints
  4. Perform a comprehensive Sensitivity Analysis of TP Factors
  5. Provide an objective evaluation between differing kinetic (force based) and kinematic (parametric) techniques for aircraft performance modelling.
  6. Establish the requirements for Aircraft Performance Data reference data that will facilitate the generation of the aircraft performance models for ATM applications.
  7. Design, collect, analyse and characterise a superset of reference trajectories and associated data for the purpose of the validation of current and future TP applications.
  8. Assessment of the Operational Application of ATM Constraints
  9. Design and conduct a statistically significant operational assessment to determine the distribution of events that can lead to intent errors.
  10. Define commonly agreed interfaces to the Flight Object.
  11. Define commonly agreed validation methodologies and metrics to assess TP performance.
  12. Establish a central service for the provision and maintenance of aircraft performance models.
