Objectives

  1. To assess the need for, and the practicality of, a common trajectory prediction approach that will serve the diverse needs of International DST development. This assessment cannot be successful without a clear understanding of the operational problems that need to be solved and the specific decision support capabilities/concepts that are needed to solve them.
  2. To identify areas for practical co-operation that can be commonly funded to achieve the desired degree of automated support to ATC in an evolutionary way, whilst recognising the need to protect specific IPRs of individual system and/or component developers.
  3. To minimise duplication of effort in the many organisations involved in tool and predictor development, for those system elements that can be shared by all interested parties. This will result in reducing overall costs and time to deployment.
