The EUROCONTROL Innovative Research Advisory Board – IRAB –advised in February 2004 to proceed with 6 out of the 50 proposals:

- Evaluation of Air Ground telecommunication security and its enhancement using Quantum Cryptography technology by ENST (Ecole Nationale Superieure des Telecommunications Paris – France);
- Visu Airport (Adapted observation for activities of an airport) by ARMINES (Ecole des Mines Paris – France);
- SCOPE (Safety of Controller Pilot dialoguE) by Thales Research & Technology France in collaboration with IntuiLab and IRIT ( Paris, Toulouse – France);
- ANIMS – improving efficiency and safety of ATM users interfaces with visual animation and sound by IntuiLab in collaboration with Intactile design (Toulouse – France);
- Neural network-based recognition and diagnosis of safety critical events by NLR in collaboration with SNN University of Nijmegen (Netherlands);
- Airport of the future, central link of inter-modal transports? by M3 SYSTEMS – ENAC (France) in collaboration with LEEA– ANA (Portugal).

Selected projects have started early April 2004, to provide results by the end of 2004.
The results of these projects have been presented at the EEC Innovative Research Workshop 2004 held at EEC Bretigny on 9 and 10 December 2004
