| CAT247- ASTERIX - Version Number Exchange (Part 20)
Category 247 defines the structure and contents of messages used for the exchange of information related to the version according to which a specific ASTERIX category has been implemented in a system. Especially during the development of a category, while the document is still in a "Working Draft" status, it is important to know, according to which edition of the specification the implementation has been done.
Only then the proper interpretation of the messages is guaranteed. Category 247 allows distributing this information.
