Safety management

Safety is a key objective. The future vision for aviation safety is jointly developed by the European Commission and EUROCONTROL through its Network Manager function.

We strive to support a performance-based approach which improves the level of safety of the network, while meeting the strategic safety objectives drawn by the Single European Sky Committee and the European ATM Master Plan.  

Our approach to safety is a pro-active and preventive one: we focus on improving data gathering and the reporting mechanisms, increasing the knowledge and understanding of safety risks and on promoting best practice amongst European stakeholders.

We also support ANSPs in the achievement of their safety goals whilst ensuring their successful implementation at the FAB and network level.
