The EUROCONTROL Upper Area Control Centre is located approximately 10 km north of the city of Maastricht, at Beek, and very close to Maastricht-Aachen Airport.

Coming by car

From Brussels (from E314/A76)

Take the E40 motorway, follow “Luik”/ “Liège”. At Leuven junction, follow E314 to Leuven/Aachen/Maastricht. After the border between Belgium and the Netherlands, follow the direction of Maastricht/Aachen Airport. Take exit 50.

Turn left into Europalaan, pass two traffic lights, turn right into Beneluxweg (third road on the right), turn left into Horsterweg No. 11.

From Maastricht, Liège, Brussels (from E25 and A2)

From the E25 (Belgium) and A2 (Netherlands) motorways, follow the direction of Eindhoven. Take exit 50 “Maastricht/Aachen Airport”. Turn left into Europalaan, turn right into Beneluxweg (second road on the right), turn left into Horsterweg No. 11.

From Amsterdam, Eindhoven (from A2)

Take exit 50 “Maastricht/Aachen Airport”. Turn left into Europalaan, turn right into Beneluxweg (third road on the right), turn left into Horsterweg No. 11.

From Aachen, Heerlen (from A76)

Follow the direction of Maastricht, then Maastricht /Aachen Airport. On the A2, take exit 50 “Maastricht/Aachen Airport”. Turn left into Europalaan, turn right into Beneluxweg (third road on the right), turn left into Horsterweg No. 11.

Coming by plane

From Maastricht airport, we recommend a taxi (5 min.). If you decide to walk, this will take about 30 minutes.

From Brussels international airport: take the train to Maastricht Central Station, and from there either the bus (50/60 min), or a taxi (20 min, approximately EUR 50).

From Maastricht Central Station, take either the bus (50/60 min.) or a taxi (20 min, approximately EUR 50).

Coming by bus

From Maastricht Central Station, take bus line 59 (Maastricht-Sittard). Get off at the second bus stop after the airport terminal (“Europalaan”). Walking time to MUAC is about 5 minutes. The Maastricht city bus service is run by Veolia Transport.

For security reasons, all visitors need to be announced by one of our employees and registered before their visit. When you arrive at the Maastricht Upper Area Control Centre, please report to the security gate with a valid ID or passport and give the name of your host. You will receive an access badge and your host will pick you up at the reception area.

A restaurant serving hot and cold meals is available. We have WIFI services.
