Information for Air Navigation Service Providers

The phased deployment of ADS-B certified and operationally approved ADS-B avionics configurations on aircraft is facilitating the operational use of ADS-B applications.

ADS-B and WAM deployment

Currently ADS-B and WAM is being deployed by ANSPs in Europe and worldwide.

It is noted that the deployment of WAM systems (which are generally integrated with ADS-B) enables the availability of ADS-B ground infrastructure as well.

The CASCADE programme is supporting the deployment of ground based ADS-B and WAM infrastructure through various tasks such as producing generic safety assessments and conducting validation activities such as the CRISTAL projects.

Additionally guidance material for the various ADS-B applications and WAM (e.g. for ATCOs) has been developed.
