Airport Operations Programme, Environment and IANS Training Courses - 2011

The EUROCONTROL Institute of Air Navigation Services (IANS) located in Luxembourg, offers specific training courses associated to the Airport Operations and Environment activities.

  • Such courses available for 2011 are:

1. Aerodrome Resource Management - Runway Safety (APT-ARM) – 07-11 February 2011, 07-11 March 2011 (each course being 5 days)

 
Make use of lessons learned for joint training - ARM

Aerodrome Resource Management is an airports’ safety training course.

The Course objectives are to raise awareness of the daily operational hazards faced when working on or around the runway and to emphasize the importance of communication, error management and situational awareness.or the different operational staff working on the maneuvering area.

These staff include aerodrome air traffic controllers (RWY, GND), pilots, people who drive on the manoeuvering area e.g. the fire brigade, inspectors, tug drivers, follow me car drivers.

All members of the Local Runway Safety Teams are invited to attend.

2. Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control System (APT-ASMGCS) – 17-19 May 2011, 15-17 November 2011 (3 days)

 
Workshop objectives are the introduction of A-SMGCS Levels 1 and 2 concepts and procedures, progress and experience with implementation and lessons learned. The workshop is supported with an industry exhibition and presentations regarding the European Action Plan for the Prevention of Runway Incursions.

This workshop includes a Runway Safety day to which pilots and drivers are specially invited.

Target audience for this course is Air Traffic Controllers, Pilots and Airport Operations personnel.

3. Airport airside Capacity Enhancement (APT-ACE) – 08-10 November 2011 (each course being 3 days)

 
Course objectives are to introduce the principles and concepts of airside performance analysis, to focus on what data is required to support capacity enhancement and capacity planning techniques and to raise awareness for the need of interaction amongst key players. It facilitates decision-making for short to medium term airport planning by promoting the use of a structured Capacity Planning Process and the EUROCONTROL Airside Capacity Enhancement (ACE) method.

Target audience for this course is Operational and Technical Experts from Aircraft Operators, Air Navigation Service Providers and Airport Operators.

4. Airport Collaborative Decision Making (APT-CDM) – 24-26 May 2011, 18-20 October 2011 (each course being 3 days)

 
Course objectives are to identify lack of full operational situational awareness to airport partners, provide detailed concept description and instruction on implementation, understand local benefits achieved, return on investment and gains envisaged to the overall ATM network. The course will also include presentations from airports who have already implemented CDM.

Target audience for this course is Operational staff from Air Navigation Service Providers, Airports, Airlines and Ground Handlers.

5. Performance Indicator and Analysis Tool for Airports (APT-PIATA+) - 04-08 April 2011, 28Nov-02Dec 2011 (each course being 5 days)

 
Course objectives are that the course participants will have a good understanding of how to use the PIATA+ tool to analyse the performance achieved at an airport and to study possible improvements.

Target audience is data analysts, simulation specialists and technical experts from ANSPs, airport operators and airlines, that would be involved in analysis of the performance and the study of possible improvements at their airports.

  • ALL OF THE ABOVE COURSES, ON REQUEST, CAN BE OFFERED LOCALLY AT AIRPORTS AND TAILOR-MADE TO SPECIFIC CUSTOMERS' NEEDS.
