Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) |
|
|
The work of the Airport Collaborative Decision Making project has been divided into two areas:
1. Planned and current work for the second Airport Operations Programme from 2007 until 2009;
2. That which was carried out during the first Airport Operations Programme from 2002 until 2006

 |
The Follow on Work of A-CDM will concentrate on looking into the areas listed below:
1. Raise awareness and ongoing support to implementation;
2. Introduce Airport CDM concept to new airports;
3. Enhance and validate new A-CDM concepts with airports;
4. Integration of airports into the European ATM Network;
5. Integrate A-CDM with DMAN;

The concept of Airport CDM endeavours to bring all the main airport partners (ATC, Aircraft Operator, Airlines, CFMU and Ground Handlers) together and share operational data in a transparent way. Information sharing is essential for achieving common situational awareness. Enhancing decision making processes will lead to achieving maximised operational efficiency and best use of the available airport infrastructure and resource management.

A-CDM IMPLEMENTATION MANUAL |
As Airport CDM is as a low cost and efficient solution to many of the issues facing airports an Implementation Manual providing guidance for understanding Airport CDM and initiating a local CDM implementation project has been produced. The manual includes chapters on setting up the project, strategies, marketing, key performance indicators, procedures, risks, mitigation, frequently asked questions, and how to measure success.
The manual covers all elements of Airport CDM, including information sharing, turn-round process (the foundation requirements) to variable taxi-time calculations, Collaborative management of flight updates, pre departure sequencing and CDM in adverse conditions.
Also to be found with in the manual is an implementation checklist describing the recommended process of implementing Airport CDM and facilitating the tracking of steps completed and the effort still required.
