Aeronautical Information Management |
 |
AIM: the right digital Aeronautical Information, at the right place, at the right time.
Within ATM/CNS, the concept of AIM broadens the current scope of Aeronautical Information (AI). It ensures AI quality, integrity and timeliness through the use of fully digital interoperable systems and enables dynamic context based retrieval and delivery of AI.
The Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) Unit of EUROCONTROL is responsible for the origination, specification, facilitation and support to implementation of concepts and strategies for the creation of a sufficient, reliable and economic information environment in ATM. The long term objective is the establishment of a network-centric information environment in Europe, also known as System Wide Information Management (SWIM). In the short to medium term, the focus is on the definition and harmonised transition from the present Aeronautical Information Services (AIS) to Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) in ECAC. |
