SkyView2
The geo-spatial AIM tool

Introduction

The AIS world is changing into a paperless environment. The use of Geographical Information System (GIS) technology enables this trend in the field of AIS mapping.

SkyView2 is a viewer of spatial aeronautical information. SkyView2 supports open and seamless display of geo-referenced aeronautical information based on the OpenGIS specifications and ISO19100 standardisation framework. The aim is to improve information sharing, interchange and system to system integration.

SkyView2 is a free of charge concept demonstrator in support of the aeronautical community.

Main SkyView 2.3.0 changes:
  • Flexible Use of Airspace.
  • CRAM visualisation support.
  • CRAM vertical and time filtering.
  • CRAM OpenGeospatial Web Feature Service (WFS).

Information Layers

SkyView2 covers the extended European airspace with the following AIS information layers: Airport - Navaid - Waypoint - Airway - FIR/UIR - ACC - Airspace reservations - ATFM sectors. Backdrop layers such as a world political chart are also included.
