Quality AIM

Present and future navigation and other ATM systems are data dependent; all requiring access to global broad based Aeronautical Information of a considerably higher quality and timeliness than is generally available today.

In consequence, the role and importance of quality assured aeronautical information is taking on an even greater significance than was the case in the past.

Over the years the AIM Domain of EUROCONTROL has developed a wealth of guidelines and best practice material supporting the implementation of ISO 9001:2000 quality management process in AIS and a better harmonisation of the AIS working practices in Europe.

This material is made available within this section of the site for the benefit of global information sharing.

ADQ The overall objective of this rule will be to achieve aeronautical information of sufficient quality, accuracy, timeliness and granularity as a key enabler of the European ATM Network.
AIRAC Adherence explains the importance of timely dissemination of aeronautical information and stresses the use of the standard ICAO Aeronautical Information Regulation and Control (AIRAC) system. An AIRAC calendar through the year 2009 is included.

AMMON AIS Data and Publication Measuring and Monoring - project to identify and analyse data content and timeliness inconsistencies

CHAIN - Data Integrity supports the establishment of an automated data supply chain, thus enabling system-wide interoperability and improving the integrity and quality of aeronautical data throughout the data chain.

OPADD - Operating Procedures for AIS Dynamic Data These guidelines complement the ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPS) defined in Annex 15 to the International Convention on Civil Aviation and in the Aeronautical Information Services Manual (Doc8126).

Quality Assurance - ISO 9001 This project of AIS AHEAD Programme provides guidelines and best practice material supporting the implementation of ISO 9001:2000 in AIS and harmonisation of the AIS working practices in Europe.

SDP - AIS Data Process & Static Data Procedures The AIS Data Process (ADP) and Static Data Procedures (SDP) are generic guidelines required to support harmonisation of AIS practices. They provide a ‘common AIS Operations language’ that reflect current State’s “best practices” for the handling of AIS Static Data.
