The Global AIM Congress 2008 was held from 17-19th June 2008 in Singapore with the theme "Quality AIM". The intention of the Congress was to build on the achievements of Madrid (2006) and Brussels (2007) and to bring the engaged debate to the Asia/Pacific Region.
AIM has tried to provide a secure, comprehensive and affordable basis on which the ATM system will be reliant. There was a clear need to explain why change is necessary, how change can be achieved, and to demystify the change process to engage with and involve all stakeholders in the evolution of AIS to AIM.

The Global AIM Congress 2008 was a cooperation between the Civil Aviation Authority Singapore and EUROCONTROL.
The Congress -and in parallel an Industry Exhibition- were held at the Marina Mandarin Hotel in Central Singapore.
The Congress was preceded by a Pre-Congress Workshop on 16th June. This Workshop took place at the Singapore Aviation Academy and was divided in two streams: Technical Stream and Management Stream. The aim of the Workshop was to introduce key elements of change in a more technical and interactive way.
