Electronic Aeronautical Information Publications (eAIP) |

In the search for quality, efficiency and economy, by 1997-1998, Aeronautical Information Services (AIS) of the ECAC States have started publishing electronic version of their Aeronautical Information Publications (AIP). The lack of a standard has soon led to divergent implementations, manifested through heterogeneous technical solutions, navigation structures and presentation formats.

In response to a clear need for harmonisation and coordination, the EUROCONTROL Agency has developed the Electronic AIP (eAIP) Specification. This was initially done as part of the AIS AHEAD Programme, which had as objective to improve the management, techniques and performance of AIS in Europe.
Since 2004, the eAIP Specification is maintained and further enhanced by the Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) Domain of EATM.
